Online Ad Spend Growth Exceeds Forecasts
The 2007 full year results for online ad spend have just been published by the IAB. The big news; second-half share exceeded 16% of all ad spend, ahead of 2007 forecasts. Overall the online ad market now accounts for a mighty £2.8bn in the UK, a year-on-year growth of 38%, making Internet advertising's share larger than press classifieds and regional newspapers.
Growing nine times faster than the rest of the market, PricewaterhouseCoopers and WARC forecast that Internet advertising will exceed TV ad spend by the end of 2009.
